The compact crossover class is more cut-throat than most, with almost every manufacturer worth its salt trying to get a slice of this crowded sector. Audi’s  Q2 has been one of the more successful players.  The engine is the real highlight and remains the pick of the bunch, thanks to its smooth and punchy delivery.   It’s remarkably good fun to drive, with direct steering and plenty of grip through tighter bends.  The Q2 feels comfortable, safe and solid. The interior has a simpler and less cluttered design than Audi’s latest models but with all the equipment you’d expect an upmarket feel. The materials used in all but the most out-of-reach areas are soft to touch and feel suitably upmarket.
